You've been invited

An invitation, with your choices clear.

The other parent has asked you to join ParentGlow, a UK app for keeping children's arrangements in one place: the calendar, handovers, messages, expenses and children's details. Here is what joining would mean for you. Whether you join is up to you.

The short version

  • Free during early access. At launch, you do not pay unless you choose to. Usually the parent who set up ParentGlow pays, and one plan covers you both, so you do not need your own subscription.
  • The same rules for both of you. Neither parent can remove the other, change a sent message or read the other's private journal.
  • Your private records stay yours. Your journal never leaves the app. Your private handover times are only exported if you choose.
  • Joining is your choice. Reading this page tells nobody anything. If you ask to join, the other parent approves and you can withdraw while you wait.

What you'd share, and what stays yours.

Both parents have the same access to everything that's shared. Neither of you can give yourself more, or take any away from the other, and the parent who sent the invitation gets no extra say once you've joined.

Shared between you

  • Messages, with when each one was sent and first read
  • The calendar, and who has the children when
  • Handover times, places and checklists
  • Expenses and receipts
  • The children's details: health, school and contacts
  • Documents and photos either of you adds

Only ever yours

  • Your journal
  • Your private drop-off times, which you can export yourself for a solicitor or court
  • Your notification settings and quiet hours
  • Messages you write but don't send (the AI check reads them as you type; nothing is kept)
  • Your phone: the app never asks for your contacts, and only sees the photos and files you choose to add

Neither of you can

  • Edit or delete a message once it's sent, even your own
  • Remove the other parent from the family
  • Read the other's journal or private drop-off times
  • Change the other's settings, like notifications and quiet hours
  • Delete the family's shared record: that only happens after you've both left

Either parent can change or delete calendar events and children's details; those calendar changes appear in the shared activity history. Shared activity also shows when messages are first read, when documents are opened and when either parent last adds something. There is no online-now or typing indicator.

Your record and your choices

Keep the useful record in your hands.

Here is how exports, professional access, AI checks and leaving work.

Either parent can export the shared record

At any time, free and without asking the other. It includes both parents' messages, so it could be shown to a solicitor or court, just as texts or emails could. Your journal is never included.

Professional access is visible to both of you

Each parent can give their own solicitor read-only access to the shared record, including both parents' messages, but only after ParentGlow has checked and approved that professional's account. If the other parent grants access, you see it in the app and see each time the solicitor looked. Only the parent who granted it can end it; it lasts a year unless renewed.

Children's health documents are left out unless the granting parent chooses to include them. Journals and private drop-off times are never part of solicitor access. Either parent can also send a childminder or relative a time-limited link: allergies and medicines always show, other details only if chosen, and either parent can end the link. No one joins the family space without an invitation, and it holds two parents at most.

Keep your own private handover record

Each parent can record when a handover actually happened. The other parent never sees it, and it is not in the shared record or its exports. You can export your own record for a solicitor, mediator or court; it says the times were entered by you and not checked by ParentGlow. The same choice is available to the parent who invited you.

The AI check is the same for both parents

As you write a message, handover note or proposed change, an always-on AI check flags wording that might land badly. You choose what to send; a calmer version is suggested only if you ask. Neither parent can switch it off. Drafts go to a specialist AI service, but ParentGlow keeps no draft text. A flagged proposed change asks you to confirm, and you can still send it. A flag on a sent note or handover message stays visible to both parents and in exports.

If you change your mind

Only you can end your own access; the other parent cannot end it or remove you. A 14-day pause gives you time to cancel, and you can download your copy of the record first. After you leave, what you wrote stays under the name “A parent”; your journal and private handover times remain private. If the other parent leaves, the same happens the other way round and you keep the shared record.

One plan covers both parents

ParentGlow is free during early access. At launch, you do not pay unless you choose to: usually the parent who set up ParentGlow pays, and one plan covers you both. If a plan ends, planning and messages pause straight away. Our promise: your past records stay readable for 30 days, either of you can export everything, free, at any time, and your children's allergies, critical medicines and emergency contacts stay viewable. Renew whenever you like and everything comes back. See pricing.

Your next steps

How joining works.

  1. Get the app

ParentGlow is not in the App Store or Google Play yet. It is in early access: more on that below.

  2. Create an account

Use an email address and password. The other parent sees the email address, so choose one you are comfortable sharing.

  3. Enter the code

Choose “I have an invite code” and enter the six letters and numbers. Capitals do not matter; you see the family name before continuing.

  4. Ask to join

Add your first and last name and tap “Ask to join”. The other parent sees your name and email and approves. You can withdraw while you wait.

Codes last seven days. If yours has expired, ask the other parent for a fresh one; it takes them a tap.

Your choice

Join when it works for you.

If you do not ask to join, nothing connects and nothing is recorded about you. This page does not know who you are, and reading it tells nobody anything.

ParentGlow has no details to contact you about the invitation or send reminders. The code expires after seven days. You may prefer text or email, and if that works for you both, you may not need an app. If a court order sets out how you communicate, it still applies.

Straight answers

What invited parents ask.

Do I have to join?

No. Nobody can make you join, and there is no general rule that separated parents must use an app. If a court order sets out how the two of you communicate, it still applies. General information for England and Wales, not legal advice.

Who pays for it?

Not you, unless you choose to. ParentGlow is free during early access. At launch, usually the parent who set up ParentGlow pays, and one plan covers you both. If a plan ends, planning and messages pause, but your past records stay readable for 30 days and either of you can export everything, free, at any time.

What would the other parent see about me?

They see your name and sign-up email, plus your mobile number and date of birth if you add them. They see what you add to the shared space, when messages are first opened, when documents are opened and when you last add something. There is no online or typing indicator. Your journal, private drop-off times and settings remain yours.

Everything this page says about the app was checked against ParentGlow's code on 28 September 2026. If the app changes, this page changes with it. General information for England and Wales, not legal advice.
