Why ParentGlow exists

Parenting apart is hard enough.

The tools most separated parents are handed make it harder. Group chats that escalate. Spreadsheets that scatter. Court-mandated portals that feel like punishment — built for a different era, priced per parent, charging you to download your own records.

ParentGlow starts from a different place. It assumes good intent. It keeps the child at the centre. And it quietly records what was agreed — so neither of you has to.

  • Assumes good intent

Designed to lower the temperature, not gather ammunition.

  • Keeps the child at the centre

Every screen is about their week, their health, their world.

  • Quietly keeps the record

A tamper-proof history of what was agreed — there if you need it.

A bench under a tree at golden hour, two kites flying over the valley

“Less friction. Less conflict. A clear record.”

The whole idea, really.

Inside the app

One glance, and you know.

Four jobs every two-home family juggles — handled in one warm place.

The schedule

Who has the kids — always one glance away.

Alternating weeks, 2-2-3, every-other-weekend or your own pattern — projected a year ahead and colour-coded by parent. Handovers, school holidays and UK bank holidays are all in the same view.

Need to swap a weekend? Change requests carry a full audit trail — request, approve, counter-offer or trade days, without a single heated text.

  • Custody patterns + custom
  • Change requests
  • Handover cards
  • UK bank holidays
  • Parenting-time stats
  • iCal sync

The conversation

Messages that stay calm — and on the record.

Every message is permanent. No edits, no deletions, read receipts on both sides — so the conversation stays honest, and so does the history.

And when a reply comes out sharper than you meant it, Tone Guard reads the draft and suggests a calmer, child-focused rewrite before it sends. Less fuel. More signal.

The money

Shared costs, settled without the awkward chat.

Log it, split it, agree it — in pounds, with the receipt photo attached. Recurring templates carry the karate club and the prescriptions; monthly statements keep both sides square.

And if you ever need it, every ledger exports to a court-pack PDF aligned to Practice Direction 27A. Hopefully you won't.

  • Tagged by child

The details

Every allergy, GP and gold-band reading level — in both homes.

Allergies with severity. Medications and vaccinations. GP, NHS numbers, school contacts, documents with expiry reminders. One shared record both parents can trust — no more “it's on my phone somewhere”.

And it isn't just the two of you. Invite grandparents, sitters and childminders into your circle with exactly the access you choose — and print an Emergency Card that works offline, verified by QR.

And quietly, so much more

The small things that carry the big days.

Court-ready, if it ever comes to that

Calendar, messages and expenses export into one tamper-evident evidence bundle — SHA-256 hash chain, timestamps, tidy PDFs your solicitor will actually thank you for. Free, like every export.

Emergency Card

A printable A4 card for school bags and grandparents. No signal needed — verifies by QR.

Tone Guard

A gentle nudge before the message you might regret — the rewrite is one tap away.

Medication reminders

Doses, schedules and EpiPen flags — pushed to the right parent on the right morning.

Birthdays & key dates

Children's birthdays, nanna's, the school fair — never caught out again.

Private journal

Author-only notes — for the things you need to write down, not send.

What we agreed

A living summary of arrangements, each labelled with where it came from.

Your data, free, forever

Download everything you've ever added — every record, every receipt. Never paywalled. It's a promise.

From our early-access families

Built for the hard days, so the good ones stay good.

Why ParentGlow

You shouldn't need a court portal from 2006.

Most co-parenting tools were built in the US, priced per parent, and treat your own records as a paid extra. We think that's the wrong way round.

Comparison reflects common practice across mainstream co-parenting tools. We'd rather win on warmth anyway.

Getting started

Calm by the weekend.

Ten quiet minutes tonight. A paired-up co-parent by Friday. A weekend that runs itself.

  1. Create your family

Add the kids, your schedule pattern and the essentials — ten quiet minutes with a cup of tea.

  2. Invite your co-parent

One code pairs the second home. They see the shared record — never your private notes.

  3. Let it carry the admin

Handovers, costs and records quietly tick along — receipts kept for you, not by you.

Pricing

One family plan. No per-parent tax.

Charging each parent separately punishes families for being separated. So we don't.

Questions, answered

The things parents ask us first.

Anything else? We're a friendly email away.

hello@parentglow.co.uk
Will my records stand up in court?

ParentGlow isn't legal-advice software — but it's built so your records can be trusted. Messages and handover notes are permanent, with read receipts. Every change is written to a tamper-evident SHA-256 hash chain. And when you need to share, exports come out as tidy, timestamped PDF bundles aligned with Practice Direction 27A — the format family courts in England and Wales expect. Solicitors love a tidy bundle.

Do both parents have to pay?

No. One subscription covers your whole family — both homes, every feature. We think charging each parent separately punishes families for being separated, so we simply don't do it. And your circle counts as family too: grandparents, sitters and childminders join with the access you choose, at no extra cost. No “per-seat” anything.

What if my co-parent won't join (yet)?

Start alone. Set up the schedule, the children's details and the expenses on your own — it all works single-handed. When they're ready, one invite code pairs them in and they're stitched into the shared record from that day forward. No pressure, no nagging emails from us.

Can my co-parent see my private notes?

No. Your journal is author-only, and care-log entries can be marked “only me” — filtered on the server, not just hidden on the screen. Everything that is shared is clearly labelled, so you always know what the other home can see.

Is my family's data safe?

It's the whole foundation. GDPR-first design, server-side authorisation on every request, no third-party analytics that identify you, and audit trails on critical actions. And the promise that matters most: exporting your data is free, forever — it's your family's record, not ours.

Is it really built for the UK?

Properly. DD/MM/YYYY dates, £ GBP, UK bank holidays, NHS numbers with real validation, and the language of UK family law — contact time, child arrangements orders, parental responsibility. You'll never see “custody” or “visitation” in ParentGlow.

Which platforms, and when can I get it?

iOS and Android. ParentGlow is currently in early access with UK families — join the list below and we'll send one email when it's your turn. No spam, ever.
